Sol Mountain Lodge

Sol Mountain Lodge is a backcountry ski and hiking lodge in BC's Monashee Mountains.

What I did

I maintain the site post-launch, handling content updates, seasonal changes, and fixes.

The problem I solved

The lodge's availability and booking table needed to appear on several pages, but Squarespace has no native way to define a block once and have it update everywhere. Every edit meant updating each page by hand and hoping nothing drifted out of sync. Now the availability data lives on a single Squarespace page, and a script injected across the relevant pages fetches it live and renders the table wherever it's needed. Lodge staff make one edit, and every page shows it.

About this site

This is Trinh Nguyen's dev blog, dressed up as a terminal. Instead of clicking through pages, you run commands against a small virtual file system with three directories:

~/posts~/topics~/projects~/about

How to use it

  • Type a command at the prompt and press enter. Output is added below, like a shell session.
  • Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows/Linux) to open the command palette with suggestions and your recent commands.
  • The /posts, /topics, /projects and /about links in the header are shortcuts for cd ~/posts && ls and friends.
  • Chain commands with &&, e.g. cd ~/about && cat me.md.
  • To read an article, ls a directory, then cat the file you want.
