AbSPORU (Alberta SPOR SUPPORT Unit)

101 words · 1 min read

absporu.ca is the public website for the Alberta SPOR SUPPORT Unit, a health research organization that connects patients, clinicians, and researchers across Alberta's patient-oriented research network. It's a WordPress site built with Elementor. The content is varied: training and event listings, patient-partner opportunities, research service applications, and navigation for researchers, patients, and policy-makers.

I maintain it on an ongoing basis: publishing and updating content, building and adjusting Elementor pages, keeping plugins, theme, and core up to date, and fixing issues as they come up. I also keep the front end fast and accessible, and easy for non-technical staff to update themselves.

About this site

This is Trinh Nguyen's dev blog, dressed up as a terminal. Instead of clicking through pages, you run commands against a small virtual file system with three directories:

~/posts~/topics~/projects~/about

How to use it

  • Type a command at the prompt and press enter. Output is added below, like a shell session.
  • Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows/Linux) to open the command palette with suggestions and your recent commands.
  • The /posts, /topics, /projects and /about links in the header are shortcuts for cd ~/posts && ls and friends.
  • Chain commands with &&, e.g. cd ~/about && cat me.md.
  • To read an article, ls a directory, then cat the file you want.
